Ihre beiden größten Texte - der Isidor-Traktat und das Matthäus-Evangelium - fallen außerdem aufgrund ihrer relativ gu…ten Übersetzungsqualität auf. Diese ist jedoch keineswegs homogen: Der Traktat gilt als die bessere Übersetzung, doch weist auch er qualitative Schwankungen zwischen den relativ „originaltreuen" Passagen alttestamentarischer Bibelstellen und „gelungeneren" Kommentarteilen auf. Wirken hier verschiedene Prinzipien der Übersetzung? Können die beobachtbaren stilistischen Unterschiede zwischen Traktat und Evangelium auf nur einen Übersetzer zurückgehen? In der vorliegenden Studie werden zwar in erster Linie linguistische Phänomene (nichtkanonische Verbstellungsmuster und die Nullsubjektsoption) diskutiert, doch wird deren Distribution für eine stilistische Neubewertung der einzelnen Texte nutzbar gemacht. Auf der Grundlage dieser Daten erscheint auch die Verfasserfrage in einem neuen Licht.
