Nella città aveva costruito e consolidato in oltre cinquant'anni di assidua attività un pubblico fedele che ne apprezzava le qualità di musicista quanto quelle di comunicatore appassionato. A un anno esatto dalla scomparsa, per iniziativa del Rotary Club Padova in collaborazione con l'Ateneo patavino, gli venne dedicata una giornata di studi intesa a esaminare criticamente i differenti aspetti dell'attività come direttore d'orchestra, organizzatore, promotore di ricerche, curatore di edizioni, divulgatore. Le ricerche presentate allora e fondate su una solida base documentaria sono qui raccolte per servire a una più generale riflessione sulla cultura e sulla diffusione della musica d'arte.
