Illustrated with b&w plates. 5" x 8.75". Decorated red cloth, top two inches of the spine at the front cover hinge chipped, heavily foxed throughout. 62 pp + 4 pp of ads. The cover title is Dinks on Dogs, Ed. by Frank Forester. "Herbert states in the Preface that he 'found it necessary to make no alteration or elision' in this work'" (Van Winkle). Worn, but good.

Green covers with gilt design of a dog on front and gilt lettering and design on spine. No DJ. Corners of covers are bumped, worn and starting to split. Ends of spine are worn and frayed, with top end missing a piece. Covers have edge wear. Hinge is starting to split after front cover, and binding is split after title page. Pages have some tanning and some pages have some stains. A price is in upper corner of second page, and name of a previous owner is at top of third page. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 663 pages.

Original pale yellow endpages intact. Binding snug; contents complete and very neat. Cloth corners lightly bumped; a short, very shallow divot (about 1/2 in length) out of the front edge of the rear board. Rebacked spine has been done professionally but using a rather heavy buckram underneath the original cloth spine panel. Two lengths of cloth tape carefully applied in the gutters of the front and rear endpages. Contents VG+ in a resored binding that preserves most of the original case. Overall G++.
