Témoignage bouleversant de la Révolution française, Marat assassiné (ou La Mort de Marat) est l'un des plus célèbres tableaux de Jacques-Louis David et compte parmi les plus admirés des collections des Musées royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique. Exécutée en à peine trois mois, la toile rend hommage au journaliste Jean-Paul Marat, révolutionnaire populaire et redouté, membre de la Convention nationale, assassiné par la jeune royaliste Charlotte Corday le 13 juillet 1793.
