Modest soiling to covers, creasing to lower fore-edge and bottom right corner of front cover as well as at its top left corner with a small slender patch of surface scuffing within top red band, spine fold scuffed with 3cm tear at head and 1cm tear at heel. Light foxing upon interior leaves mostly at margins. Does not feature any part of the play's text but rather was published as an extended playbill with adulatory biographical essays regarding the play's author Kermit Hunter and director Harry Davis on pages 1-2. Cast of characters, actors, staff, etc. listed and pictured on pages 4-15. Remaining text features articles regarding the development of the Cherokee Mountainside Theatre and the Cherokee Historical Association, a three-part essay "The Story of the Cherokee" by Kermit Hunter on pages 20-24, essay "The American Indian in North Carolina" by Dr. Douglas L. Rights, "The Eastern Cherokees Today" by Joe Jennings, "The Great Smokies" by Bill Sharpe, etc. plus concluding four pages of advertisements. This publication is for the very first summer season - July 1 to September 4, 1950 - for UNTO THESE HILLS which the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians still sponsors every summer with the performances still acted at The Mountainside Theatre in Cherokee, North Carolina near Asheville and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
