Hardback. Condition: New. The human skin, as the largest organ of the body, is home to numerous neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders. The vast majority of non-neoplastic skin diseases are inflammatory in nature, while a small subset is non-inflammatory. This book covers 194 non-neoplastic dermatologic conditions, classified b…y their primary microscopic tissue reaction patterns. Our aim is to provide a concise, practical, and up-to-date review of these diseases. We offer a discussion on the clinical presentation, histopathologic features, pathogenesis, differential diagnosis, and management for each entity. One of the key attributes of this clinical atlas is the abundant collection of clinical and microscopic images used to illustrate the salient features of these disorders. In this book, we will focus on inflammatory dermatoses, which encompass a wide range of dermatologic conditions that can be challenging to diagnose due to significant overlaps in clinical and histopathologic features. Dermatopathologists are more likely to encounter unusual or ambiguous cases that are particularly difficult to classify. The interpretation of non-neoplastic skin biopsies requires not only microscopic pattern recognition but also careful integration of clinical history, laboratory data, and other ancillary findings, wherever available, to render the most appropriate diagnoses. We hope that this book will help our readers as they interpret challenging skin biopsies for non-neoplastic diagnoses.

Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Presumed First Edition, First printing. 207 pages. Illustrations. Bibliography. Some end paper discoloration. DJ is worn, torn, soiled, chipped and scuffed. Booksellers sticker inside the front cover. Inscribed in Afrikaans on fep to Johannes Augustus Bresler with the comp…liments of the author, dated Pretoria 14.3.66. Handwritten note from the author in Afrikaans also dated 14.3.66 presumably sending the recipient his book. The author was a noted lawyer and judge during the a large part of that important period between the end of the Anglo-Boer war and the first years of the formal Apartheid period. Illustrations include images of Potchefstroom Commando, Field Marshal J. C. Smuts, Sir John Wessels, Eugene N. Marias, Tielman Roos, General J. B. M. Hertzog, and Oswald Pirow. The author has long been connected with the law and had in addition known many of the country's leading personalities in more spheres than one. He had heard every on the South Africa's six Prime Ministers plead for unity, and was closely associated as a Judge's registrar with numbers of the country's eminent judges over a period of years He has been able to cast his mind back to incidents which occurred at the turn of the century. As counsel he has appeared in a number of major cases and as a judge has presided in some of more than general interest. His contact with a number of leading political personalities has enabled him to assess their ambitions and contributions to the public life of South Africa. Numbers of the matter to which he refers may come as revelations of the more pleasant and intriguing kind to many. all in all, the design has been to offer what is considered to be either informative or interesting, or perhaps both. No effort has been spared to ensure fidelity and objectivity throughout. It would perhaps be apt to describe tis as a book of reminiscences in so far as it treats of the author's personal contact with personalities and happenings in the course of a full and eventful life.
