(errata) La première édition fut publiée à Lausanne en 1788 sous le titre : "Réponse aux principales questions qui peuvent être faites sur les Etats-Unis de l'Amérique ; par un habitant de la Pensylvanie". Une seconde édition parut à Lausanne, chez Luquiens, en 1795 (avec un titre légèrement modifié). Cette édition vraisemblablement publiée en 1802, est la troisième édition. Dans 2 feuillets insérés entre l'avertissement au lecteur et les "Questions principales", l'auteur, prêtre de Fréjus, se justifie d'avoir amélioré son ouvrage "dans un tems où il n'y a des objets très essentiels qui puissent distraire de la politique". Il regrette de n'avoir pu joindre de carte détaillée et précise : "La meilleur carte géographique des Etats-Unis est celle de Faden. Celle de la Pensylvanie par Howell est un ouvrage précieux".
