Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The news networks made the announcement on November 12, 2026. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) had been achieved. The newest AI systems could match or exceed the cognitive abilities of human beings across any task. The media quickly coined the term "The Great Change." In less than a yea…r after introduction, every industry had installed an AI application as part of their office software suite. With the rapid influx of robots into the workforce, the unemployment rate continued to climb. The unemployment rate did not remain incremental. The summer of 2031 saw the completion of a labor paradigm shift. The unemployment rate was now 25% and seemed to be climbing on a daily basis with no end in sight. The 2032 Life of Leisure Legislation Act was finally agreed to by congress and signed into law by the president. Any company that replaced a human worker with a robot would pay a tax. This tax would then be put into a fund that would be used to supply the unemployed with a monthly income, a stipend. This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Night games, under the lights, were our favorite. The summer heat would give way to cooler evenings and as soon as the station wagon doors opened, we could smell the fresh cut grass. The dirt infield had been meticulously dragged with a piece of chain-link fence. The mound had been carefully… swept, and bases had been attached to the hooks on the ground. We were dressed in our freshly washed uniforms. We felt like we were in the big leagues. My brothers and I were all taught to fish at an early age. We would be given a cane pole to begin with and as we improved our skill level we would be promoted to a Zebco 202. The progression was as follows: 202, 404, 33 and finally, when we were high school age, the Zebco One. We never used open face reals; we didn't see the point. Southern church sermons are not about religious education. The sermons are meant to whip the congregation into a spiritual frenzy. When I was a kid, the preacher would start the sermon with a coherent lesson in mind, but this would almost always devolve into a hyper, fist pounding, gibberish chant. I could never be sure exactly what was being said, but I was positive that we were in trouble. The message usually involved some sin that was being committed that would inevitably lead to our damnation. We were told the rules required to get us out of this situation, but we were also reminded constantly that we were always on probation. Just one more misstep and there would be inescapable consequences. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The giant crocodile made his way from Morocco through the Strait of Gibraltar. He then hugged the coastline to Algiers and then launched himself into the Mediterranean Sea. He swam far out into the sea and then with the help of strong winds managed to surf his way across. When the winds subs…ided, he was off the coast of Narbonne, France and near the opening of the Aude River. Jack's dad and mom called the family together and announced that they would be traveling to France for their summer vacation. They would hike the trails of the Pyrenees mountains, visit the Cathar castles, but most importantly they would camp by the Aude River. This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Fred was not a big kid. In fact, he was one of the smallest in his fourth-grade class. However, his classmates always seemed to be drawn mysteriously toward him. Fred was always aware that someone or something was watching. He would often awaken, late at night, to a strange bright light and…would sometimes think he could hear a faint whisper within the light. The vision seemed to occur when he wasn't completely awake, and he could never be sure if it wasn't just his overactive imagination. The rabbit looked at Fred and bowed. "Hello Fred," he said, with an English accent, "I am pleased to make your acquaintance." Fred was frozen and in shock. He slowly backed into a chair to have a seat before he fell over. It was all too much to comprehend: a woman who appears out of a light, a rabbit that can stand upright and talk! This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Today was the start of spring practice for the Golden Knights. He looked everywhere. Under the bed, in his closet. "Mom." Fred yelled frantically, "I can't find my glove." "Did you look under the bed," she yelled back." "Yes." "I looked everywhere," it's gone." Fred heard his mom walking dow…n the hall as she approached his room. She looked around his room and walked over to a shirt that had been thrown on the floor. She picked up the shirt and there was Fred's glove. Rita was very tall and skinny for her age and was often teased by the other kids. When the school pictures were made, she always stood out as not only the tallest girl, but the tallest kid. The kids would often call her Rita string bean, Rita Bonita, Rita Roni and numerous other names. She usually tried to laugh it off, but many times it hurt her feelings. Rita had been encouraged by her mother to try out for the little league team. She had never played organized baseball but had always enjoyed playing the game with her father. He had taught her how to grip the bat and to crouch so she had the proper balance to hit the ball. They usually tossed the ball around at least once per week. The coach threw a slow pitch to Rita, and she hit it hard and straight back at the coach. He had to quickly duck in order to not get hit. This time the coach threw his hardest pitch. Rita crushed it and sent it over the centerfield fence. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.
