Whende M. Carroll, MSN, RN-BC, FHIMSS, is the Clinical Informatics Advisor at the Healthcare Information and Management System Society (HIMSS) and is the Founder of Nurse Evolution, a healthcare IT information hub established to educate nurses about using new technologies, advanced data analytics, and innovation strategies. She is a Nursing Knowledge: Big Data Science Policy and Advocacy workgroup steering committee member and co-chair of the Digital Health and Innovation workgroup. Whende co-chairs the American Nurses Association Innovation Advisory Committee for artificial intelligence, augmented intelligence, and data science. She is a past HIMSS Nursing Informatics Committee member, is on the Nursing Management Journal editorial board, and is a Informatics guest lecturer at the University of Washington - Tacoma. She co-authored and edited the 2020 American Journal of Nursing book-of-the-year award-winning text Emerging Technologies for Nurses–Implications for Practice.
