Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This illuminating tome explores the complex visual interplay between the eye's accommodation and convergence. The author, a notable figure in ophthalmology, presents a revolutionary theory that challenges the established view of single vision as the primary function of convergence. Instead, they argue that fixation is its true purpose, with single vision resulting from a distinct, independent process termed 'application'. The book delves into the interdependence of accommodation and convergence, exploring how their intricate relationship influences binocular vision. Through a detailed examination of accommodation defects and their impact on visual clarity, the author demonstrates how eyeglasses can be customized to relieve visual strain and preserve ocular health. This comprehensive treatise, grounded in meticulous research, offers a cutting-edge perspective on the oculomotor system. Its insights will prove invaluable to ophthalmologists and optometrists seeking to understand and address the complex ocular defects encountered in clinical practice. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
