"Sunday Theatre Section of Faculty Woman's Club" stamp on front fly along with a tipped in printed policy of the theatre's play exchange, penciled check marks and production notes in the margins of several pages, light foxing on endpapers, very good in a very good dust jacket with nicks and creased tears, and foxing on both sides. Text and story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play *The Subject Was Roses* that originally featured Jack Albertson, Irene Daily, and Martin Sheen. Sheen and Albertson reprised their roles for the 1968 Gilroy-scripted film version, with Patricia Neal replacing Daily and featuring songs by Judy Collins and Sandy Denny. Albertson won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, Neal, recovering from a near fatal stroke, was nominated for Best Actress.
