La ville de Montpellier garde vif le souvenir du Professeur Pierre Jourda ; dans le quartier des Beaux-Arts, une rue porte son nom. La relation d'amitié entre ces deux beylistes de premier ordre que furent Henri Martineau et Pierre Jourda, dura de 1928 à 1958, année de la mort de Martineau. Dans le volume " Hommage à Henri Martineau " qui constitue le dernier numéro de la revue " Le Divan ", Pierre Jourda évoque leur première rencontre - et ses nombreuses suites - dans la librairie du Divan, qui longtemps exista à l'angle des rues Bonaparte et de l'Abbaye (Paris VIe).
