Condition: Fine. This vibrantly colored political map of the world was published between October 1939 and July 1940 by C.S. Hammond & Co. of New York. The national boundaries of Europe reflect a dark era of modern history - the destruction of Poland by Nazi Germany and the impending death struggle with the Western Allies, then composed of only Britain and France. The progress of Japanese conquest during the Second Sino-Japanese War is also shown. Distances between sea ports are noted with red overprinting, with access to Germany apparently still possible via Dover!
