Paperback. Condition: New. This book provides a valuable contribution to our thinking about education in a modern metropolis. One of the strengths of this book is its diversity of topics which range from research with young children to adult learners, and compulsory schooling to higher education. The contributors are concerned with the particular demands of teaching and learning in a diverse educational context such as East London and offer perceptive insights into the complex issues that arise from this experience. This is a thought-provoking and highly informative publication of the research ideas and professional experiences of our current educators. The authors illustrate the rich experience of the ever-evolving field of education by bringing together research and observations from their professional practice. Their aim is to support learning and teaching, through stimulating readers' thinking about education, pedagogy, ways of learning, and the subjects that they teach. Edited by three authors who have substantial experience in a wide range of educational settings both nationally and internationally, this book is for students, academics, teacher educators and all those who are involved in leading and delivering education in one way or another.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are electronic technologies used for information storage and retrieval. Development is partly determined by the ability to establish a synergistic interaction between technological innovation and human values. The rapid rate at which ICTs have evolved since the mid 20th century, the convergence and pervasiveness of ICTs, give them a strong role in development and globalization. ICTs have a significant impact on all areas of human activity. The field of education has been affected by ICTs, which have undoubtedly affected teaching, learning, and research work. A great deal of research has proven the benefits to the quality of education in Ghana. ICTs have the potential to accelerate, enrich, and deepen skills, to motivate and engage students, to help relate school experience to work practices, create economic viability for tomorrow's workers, as well as strengthening teaching and learning For most schools, their main aim is how they can integrate technology into teaching and learning. This book expatiates on the effects of ICT facilities on teaching and learning in Senior High Schools.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - This study assessed the state of grounds in Basic Schools in the Kumasi Metropolis, and its effect on teaching and learning. The study was qualitative and quantitative in approach. 100 Basic schools within the Kumasi Metropolis were selected for the study. Data was collected from head teachers, teachers and pupils. Tools for data collection included structured questionnaires and interview guide. The study investigated the knowledge of respondents on; the benefits of landscaping schools, the concept of outdoor learning and the relationship between the schools landscape and the school curriculum. The findings of the study revealed that grounds in Basic Schools in the Kumasi Metropolis were generally poor and the use of ornamental plants was simply lacking in most schools. The research clearly showed that most schools within the study area, that had good landscaped grounds scored very good aggregates in the BECE, while those with very poor landscapes performed poorly comparatively. School authorities are aware of the functional benefits of landscaping but have failed to incorporate them into the school environment.
