On the Front cover is a photograph of a brand new Navy monoplane, readied for World War II. This World War II Era Issue Contains Stories, Articles on basketball, Adventure Stories, Comics, Model Planes, the newly created JEEP, Period Advertising, and more. Vintage Monthly Periodical. OP "The Open Road for Boys" was a monthly periodical sponsored by the Open Road Pioneers, an outdoor activity club with similarities to the Boy Scouts. The magazine featuring lots of adventure stories and outdoorsy things, and participatory activities. This is the February 1942 issue of "The Open Road for Boys". America was newly embroiled in the Second World War, but life went on, and while this issue reflects the involvement with the war, Inside, there are some great adventure stories, some basketball tips, and lots of period advertising!
