Boards are heavily worn, rubbed and scuffed all over, with leather chipped and cracked on corners and spine ends. Text block edges soft and dust darkened. Internally endpapers and first and last few pages have some staining and warpage, with a little browning throughout but generally clean and neat. Bookplate on front paste down (illegible) together with a label indicating the volume was once in the collection of Berkeley Divinity School with the date 1854.   It is likely that there were three issues of The Clerical Guide between 1817 and 1829, and then this new edition published in 1836.

Cloth is unevenly faded and a little marked, gently rounded on corners and spine ends, title label on spine chipped and crumbling. Text block edges a little toned. Three previous owner's bookplates on the front endpaper, with a historical note tipped in. A hint of aging to pages but generally internally neat, clean and tight. It is likely that there were three issues of The Clerical Guide between 1817 and 1829, and then this new edition published in 1836.
