120pp [110 pp + x]. Reportedly translated by Richard Seaver, from Les Exploits d'un jeune Don Juan, an erotic novel first published at Paris in 1905 or 1906 by Elias Gaucher, a fly-by-night publisher who hawked his wares round the booksellers in a suitcase. Although usually credited as an original work by Apollinaire, it is actually a word-for-word translation of a German work by the poet of Kinder-Geilheit. Second printing (no price on back cover). Reprinted together with The Debauched Hospodar as No. 70 of The Traveller's Companion Series. [Kearney-Carroll 1.4.2]. Dark green dust jacket printed in black over plain white wrappers. Light rubbing to points, nicks to top and bottom of spine. Slight gap between spine and cover, which seems to be more due to sloppy binding than reader-wear. Else very good.
