Floating in situ gel was prepared by using in-situ gel forming polymers like sodium alginate and pectin. Drug-excipients compatibility was carried out by FT-IR study. A 3level 2factor full factorial design was applied to investigate the combined effect of sodium alginate concentration (X1) and calcium carbonate concentration (X2). Floating In situ gels were evaluated for floating lag time, % drug release at 1 hr and % drug release at 12 hrs. In addition to the above, floating in situ gels were also evaluated for, pH, Viscosity, gelling capacity, floating time, drug content. All formulation gave the satisfactory result in terms of floating lag time, % drug release at 1 hr, and 12 hrs. Le gel flottant in situ a été préparé à l'aide de polymères gélifiants in situ tels que l'alginate de sodium et la pectine. La compatibilité entre le médicament et les excipients a été évaluée par une étude FT-IR. Un plan factoriel complet à 3 niveaux et 2 facteurs a été appliqué pour étudier l'effet combiné de la concentration en alginate de sodium (X1) et de la concentration en carbonate de calcium (X2). Les gels flottants in situ ont été évalués en fonction du temps de flottement, du pourcentage de libération du médicament après 1 heure et du pourcentage de libération du médicament après 12 heures. La compatibilidad entre el fármaco y los excipientes se evaluó mediante un estudio FT-IR. Se aplicó un diseño factorial completo de 3 niveles y 2 factores para investigar el efecto combinado de la concentración de alginato de sodio (X1) y la concentración de carbonato cálcico (X2). Los geles flotantes in situ se evaluaron en función del tiempo de flotación, el porcentaje de liberación del fármaco a la hora y el porcentaje de liberación del fármaco a las 12 horas.
