Neuware - Etwa 15 Kilometer südöstlich vom Stadtzentrum Leipzigs entfernt liegt das Dorf Störmthal, über Jahrhunderte hinweg eines der reichsten Dörfer der Leipziger Umgebung. Als Kirchenpatron war dem Rittergutsherren Statz Friedrich von Fullen sicher daran gelegen, dass nach dem 1693 veranlassten B…au des Störmthaler Schlosses auch die Kirche des Ortes einen repräsentativen Eindruck machte. So ließ er 1702 das Gotteshaus umfangreich erneuern und schenkte der Gemeinde eine Orgel, deren Erbauer heute namentlich nicht mehr bekannt ist. Sein Sohn Statz Hilmor von Fullen ließ ab April 1722 die Kirche erneut renovieren und aufgrund der zunehmenden Größe der Gemeinde erweitern. Zudem wollte er Altar, Kanzel und Orgel zeitgemäß erneuern. Letzteres lief auf einen Neubau anstelle einer Reparatur hinaus.Am 2. November 1723 prüfte Johann Sebastian Bach, seit wenigen Monaten Thomaskantor und städtischer Musikdirektor in Leipzig, die von Zacharias Hildebrandt erbaute Orgel in der Kirche zu Störmthal. Zur Einweihung der renovierten Kirche und der neuen Orgel führte er seine Kantate 'Höchsterwünschtes Freudenfest' BWV 194 auf. Durch glückliche Umstände hat die Orgel am historischen Ort Kriege, Krisen und Mangelwirtschaft überdauert. Nach sorgfältigen Restaurierungen von Kirchenraum und Orgel präsentiert sich heute wieder das Störmthaler Ensemble im Zustand von 1723.Aus Anlass des Orgeljubiläums geben sechs Autoren profunde Einblicke in die Geschichte der Kirche und ihrer Hildebrandt-Orgel. Die reich bebilderten Beiträge spannen einen thematisch weiten Bogen, der von der Wiedergewinnung des historischen Klangbildes im Rahmen der 2008 abgeschlossenen Orgelrestaurierung über die Nutzung der Orgel in Liturgie und Konzert bis zu ihrer Einbindung in die Leipziger Hochschulausbildung reicht.
