In addition, this book introduces and describes a new methodology for feedback control system design that has great potential to enable robots to adapt to unknown environments. Inspired by the global entrainment property of human and animal locomotion incorporating neural oscillators and their networks, we expend considerable effort into realizing a new biologically inspired motion generation and control scheme for robotic systems. Hence, the authors believe that our study promises to play a breakthrough role in the field of robotics.
