I've clean hands in a dirty world". Dedicated "To the Heroic Memory of Florence Nightingale, The Lady with the Lamp". Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), an English hospital administrator, began studying methods of raising the drudgery of nursing the sick to the dignity of a profession. During the Crimean war (1854), she organized a unit of 38 nurses, and operated despite great criticism; she not only cared for the physical needs of wounded soldiers but looked at their social welfare. The press named her "The Lady With The Lamp" because she used to made rounds at night when everybody was asleep. She founded the Nightingale School and Home for training nurses, at St.Thomas Hospital, London, England (1860) . She became known as the founder of modern nursing. This book was published the year of the death of Nightingale in 1910. Frank Dadd (illustrator).…
