Wilhelm Hisinger (1766-1852) was a chemist and a mineralogist who also owned iron mines and foundries in Västmanland. His cooperation with Berzelius led to the discovery of the new element cerium in 1804. He published several works on geology, one of the most important being "Anteckningar i physik och geognosi under resor uti Sverige och Norrige". He donated his considerable collections to the Swedish Academy of Sciences. Thor August Odencrants (1782-1829) punlished several parish descriptions in "Jönköpings hushålls-sällskaps handlingar", of which he was also the editor.
