Between them the authors made 9 attempts at escaping from German WWII priosoner-of-war camps, they finally achieved success after 5 years of trying. Prittie was captured in the `hold Calais to the last man' move of 1940, his revolver full of sand. 400 pages of ESCAPE adventures!! Lots of maps, both of routes taken, harbour lay-outs, prison details, etc. Three or four are in COLOUR. Some photos and some POW sketches. Cond: Lincoln green boards with gold titling. NO dust jacket. Pages starting sli. at title page and 285. Boards show light wear at top and bottom edges, plus corners, plus top and tail. No tears. No marks. Prev. owner's name in pencil on ffep.
