Publisher's emblem embossed in blind on both covers. There is a .5" piece of the spine missing at the head of the spine. The front joint is split for 1.5" up from the heel, but the binding is sound. Age-toned endpapers. There is a 1" closed tear on the fore-edge of p.157. Rubber-stamped -" JF Pierce Books Stationery and Music Augusta Maine" on the ffe. Otherwise, the pages are generally clean and unmarked. The author was a member of the Maine Historical Society.
