Er verweist dazu auf die "Plädoyers für die Anarchie", wie sie vor allem im angelsächsischen Raum auch von akademischer Seite publizi…ert wurden (z.B. von Robert Paul Wolff, Michael Taylor, Alan Ritter, L. Susan Brown und Alan Carter). Dennoch verhehlt Uri Gordon nicht, dass er als Anarchist über den Anarchismus schreibt. So stellt er ein beachtliches Spektrum von antikapitalistischen Zentren, lokalen Basisorganisationen, Netzwerken, Kampagnen gegen Gipfeltreffen, Kooperativen etc. vor, die er grösstenteils selbst besucht bzw. daran teilgenommen hat. Doch die eigentliche Stärke und das Spezifikum des Buches ist, dass er den Dilemmata einer gegenwartstauglichen anarchistischen Praxis nicht ausweicht - vielmehr beschäftigt er sich ausführlich mit der Macht- und Gewaltfrage sowie dem Verhältnis zu (nationalen) Befreiungsbewegungen - und letzteres gar noch am heiklen Beispiel Israel/ Palästina. Das Buch ragt insofern aus der anarchistischen Literatur heraus, als dass es um die Möglichkeiten anarchistischer (Anti-)Politik geht, also um die anarchistische "Zukunftsfähigkeit". Das zeichnet das vorliegende Buch auch deshalb aus, weil es in der einschlägigen Literaturproduktion sonst meist eher um die "Klassiker" von Bakunin bis zur spanischen Revolution geht, die Anarchismusrezeption also meist in den 1930er Jahren endet.
