ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (S/hand, Hardcover, 2011). 2011 1st edition. Large landscape 4to (288 x 260mm). Pp216. Large colour photographs throughout. Textured grey paper-covered boards, upper board and spine titled in metallic-blue. Fine copy in dust-wrapper. "Over the course of a y…ear, Pete McDonald and Tosh Brown followed an immeasurable biomass of predators and prey on their annual oceanic migration from Maine to North Carolina. .An engaging and comprehensive view of the beaches, tidal rips, birds, bait, and gamefish of the Eastern Seaboard." This is an exciting account of a safari down the North American Atlantic shore, in pursuit of bass, bluefish, tuna, bonito, false albacore, redfish and other species in a mass migration of predators and prey, starting in Maine and ending up in North Carolina. Chapters include: Maine; The Boston Shore; Cape Cod; Martha's Vineyard; Nantucket; Rhode Island; Connecticut; Jamaica bay; Breezy Point; Montauk; The Jersey shore; The Susquehanna flats; Tidewater Virginia; Harker's Island; Supratidal redfish. Whilst the author says that this book "is not a how-to-where-to guidebook," it almost is. This book would be of great use for European anglers planning a trip to the US East Coast since it contains a large amount of background information which you are unlikely to find anywhere else. Great photographs, better than the norm for subject-matter, and a readable text which addresses its subject in a focused manner. Recommended. .

Hard Cover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. First Edition. 216 pp. Over the course of a year, Pete McDonald and Tosh Brown followed an immeasurable biomass of predators and prey on their annual oceanic migration from Maine to North Carolina. From Casco Bay to The Outer Banks, they shot photographs, burned video foota…ge, and interviewed an eclectic cast of anglers, guides, merchants, and fly tiers. They filled rent cars with sand, they fought ill-mannered dogs in cheap motels, and they boosted convenience store profits in nine different states. Departure Publishing is proud to present The Blitz, Fly Fishing the Atlantic Migration. Through McDonald's turn of phrase, and Brown's eye for imagery, they have created an engaging and comprehensive view of the beaches, tidal rips, birds, bait, and gamefish of the Eastern Seaboard. Joining McDonald and Brown in this collaboration are celebrated East Coast photographers, Dave Skok, Brian Horsley, Sarah Gardner, Jim Levison, Matt Boutet, Sam Talarico, Barry and Cathy Beck, and others. If you're partial to crashing surf, panicked baitfish, diving birds, and busting fish, this book is the perfect complement to your fly-fishing collection. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Brown, Tosh (illustrator).
