"Erste deutsche Ausgabe der "Letteratura Turchesca" (Venedig 1787). ? Der Jesuitenpater Toderini (1728-1799) hielt sich von Oktober 1781 bis Mai 1786 am Hofe des venezianischen Gesandten Garzoni in Konstantinopel auf. Er beschäftigte sich ausgiebig mit der moslemischen Kultur, trug zahlreiche türkische Bücher und Manuskripte zusammen und nutzte seine guten Beziehungen zur Vertiefung seiner Studien.
