Die neol…iberale Privatisierungspolitik ist nicht deshalb am Ende, weil es kaum noch etwas zu privatisieren gibt, sondern weil sie einem Drittel der Bevölkerung (ca. 27 Millionen) die Beteiligung an der enormen Vermögensentwicklung in Deutschland verweigert hat. Ein Teil der Bevölkerung von 19,5 Millionen lebt in prekären Lebensverhältnissen (arbeitslos, wohnungslos, befristete Verträge, Niedriglohn etc.). Die Bezeichnung 'Soziale Marktwirtschaft' hatte mit Beginn der neoliberalen Privatisierungspolitik seit 1982 das Attribut 'Sozial' verloren. Bezeichnend ist, dass von jeder neu geschaffenen Geldeinheit 80 % an die reichsten 20 % der Gesellschaft gingen. Im Jahr 2017 betrug das Gesamtvermögen der privaten Haushalte in Deutschland 15.373 Milliarden Euro. Allein das private Geldvermögen stieg von 10,8 Milliarden Euro in 1949 auf 6.065,4 Milliarden Euro in 2017. Als Ursache sehe ich eine Investitionskrise, weil dem Staat Einkünfte aus Vermögen entzogen und Steuern für Vermögende gesenkt wurden, die er benötigt, um Ersatz- und Zukunftsinvestitionen vorzunehmen, die der private Sektor zwar tätigen könnte, weil er die Mittel dazu hat, jedoch nicht tätigen wird, weil es nicht die Gewinne verspricht, die Grundlage einer privaten Investition sind. Zudem ist bei der besser gestellten Hälfte der privaten Haushalte eine Geldschwemme entstanden, die nicht für Investitionen genutzt wird. Der Geldkreislauf ist massiv gestört. Die große Unzufriedenheit des unteren Drittels äußert sich im Verfall der großen Volksparteien und im Erstarken von Nationalismus und Populismus. Damit hat das Problem nun die Politik erreicht, und die Suche nach einer Lösung hat begonnen. Das Buch zeigt einerseits die historische Entwicklung zum Verfall der Gesellschaft. Andererseits werden Lösungsvorschläge erarbeitet, mit denen die Geldschwemme beseitigt werden kann und der Staat mit den Mitteln versorgt wird, die zu Staatsinvestitionen führen, um damit Arbeitsplätze zu schaffen und höhere Löhne zu erzielen, die schließlich in dem von Ludwig Erhard gewünschten Status münden, sich selbst und seine Abhängigen versorgen zu können. Der Weg zu einer realen Umsetzung der 'Sozialen Marktwirtschaft' wäre damit frei.

Mit der Reaktivierung des Fettstoffwechsels konnte nun ohne Mangelerscheinungen, ohne Hungergefuehle, ohne gewichtsreduzierende Hilfsmittel und ohne Jo-Jo-Effekt, das Zielgewicht nachhaltig erfolgreich angegangen werden. Die Wirtschaftspolitik orientierte sich am magischen Viereck aus Preisstabilitaet, Vollbeschaeftigung, Wachstum und aussenwirtschaftlichem Gleichgewicht. Seit den 1980er Jahren setzte sich zunehmend eine neoliberale Politik durch. Privatisierungen, Deregulierung und Steuersenkungen fuer Unternehmen sollten Investitionen foerdern. Gleichzeitig sank das oeffentliche Vermoegen stark, waehrend private Vermoegen wuchsen.
