Thomas Summerson was a manufacturer of railway equipment, switches and crossings, it was founded by Thomas Summers…on in Darlington in 1869 and survived until the mid 1960s when it closed. Their 'guide' ran to a number of editions, a fifth edition was published in 1904, the sixth edition appeared in 1924 with the seventh and last in 1954.
