CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Covers are clean and gilt is bright. Interior is clean and tight with new endpapers. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The 86th Indiana Infantry was organized at Lafayette, Indiana, and mustered in for a three-year enlistment on September, 1862 and fought as part of the Army of Ohio and Army of the Cumberland. The 86th mustered out in Nashville Tenn. on June 7, 1865. They fought at Perryville, Stone's River, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Missionary Ridge, the Atlanta Campaign, Resaca, Kennesaw Mountain, Atlanta, Jonesboro, Second Battle of Franklin, and Nashville. This first edition of the History of the 86th Indiana is quite scarce and seldom offered for sale. Here is a nice, solid rebound copy.
