Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'The Heart of Black Papua' is a gripping account of exploration and adventure in the dense, uncharted jungles of New Guinea. The narrative follows the author and his companions as they navigate treacherous terrain, encounter indigenous tribes with unique customs, and face the constant challenges of an environment untouched by Western development. Drawing on firsthand experiences, Taylor provides a vivid depiction of the landscape and the social structures of the Papuan people during the early 20th century. The work serves as both a high-stakes travelogue and a historical ethnographic study, capturing the complexities of colonial-era exploration and the cultural encounters in the South Pacific. Readers will find a compelling blend of suspense and observation, offering a historical window into the difficulties faced by pioneers seeking to document the interior of one of the world's largest islands. 'The Heart of Black Papua' remains a significant piece of travel literature, documenting a time when the island's heart was still being mapped by the outside world. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
