Amherst Island lies off the coast of Ontario, close to where Lake Ontario becomes the St. Lawrence River. With an illustrated essay, a chronology, exhibitions history, and a selected bibliography. The catalogue presents 94 specific pieces, and most are pictured here. The second half of the book reprints Fowler's own autobiography and set of recollections. This 96 page exhibition catalogue is presented in both French and English. The exhibition ran first in Kingston - February to April 1982. LEARN more about : Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, Baie Saint-Paul, Caven Atkins, cubist period, nature morte, sante populaire, and Charles Goldhamer. Friedrich Wilhelm Brandtner immigrated to Canada from Danzig Germany in 1928 as a 32 year old. He came first to Winnipeg and later Montreal. This is his art biography. One fold-out page. Chronology at back. Cond : Paper wrapper is black with white lettering. End-papers are yellow. Front cover piece looks like his 1947 work but is UNattribited. Volume is bright, and square with minor edge wear. No names nor marks. Collectible .! Excellent Canadian art reference !!
