Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 151 pages. Catalog of the exhibition in the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, 2014. Dtsch.-Engl. With an einl. Text v. Diedrich Diederichsen. | The work of Katharina Sieverding (born 1944 in Prague, lives and works in Dusseldorf) has been developing for over four decades in a plethora of statements between the poles individual and society, sensation and criticism, presence and withdrawal. The book designed by Sieverding and her studio documents Stauffenberg-Block's work from 1969 in a completely new way. The work, consisting of sixteen large-format color photographs, is dedicated to the resistance fighter and Hitler assassin Claus von Stauffenberg, who was executed in 1944. It is here combined with the series Maton Solarization of 1969 and Transformer Cyan Solarization of 1973/74. The three works are continuous transformations of the conceptual self-portrait of the artist. His serial repetition questions the apprehension of identity in a single portrait. Three works from the series Visual Studies from 2002 as well as the archival storage ORWO from 2014, which was presented as a space object, complete the selection. They refer to the diverse image archive that Katharina Sieverding bases her work on. With an introductory text by Diedrich Diederichsen on feminism, anti-fascism and psychedelia. (SL#163).…

Brossura. Condition: new. Roma, Casa di Goethe, 27 novembre 2001 - 25 febbraio 2002.Testo Italiano, Inglese e Tedesco.Milano, 2002; br., pp. 160, ill. b/n, cm 23,5x30. The idea of the metamorphosis, which Johann Wolfgang von Goethe had posited more than two hundered years ago, is today revisited by Katharina Sieverding, one of the most stimulating personalities on the contemporary art scene. Favoring a socially responsibleart, working with themes of identity, individuality, society, and the technologization of man and nature, she has chosen, in the course of repeated visits to the archives of Stiftung Weimarer Klassik, around 150 objects from Goethe's scientific legacy, beginning at the dawn of modern biology. Botanical studies, minerals, and human and animal skulls representative of the four "kingdoms of nature" are aligned, each with an artwork properly conceived. Katharina Sieverding, born in Prague in 1944, student of Joseph Beuys at the end of the seventies and pioneer in the fields of photography, film, and large format video, intends this work to put forth an appeal of respect for the fundamental principles of life and nature.
