This copy is almost 100 years old, has been well taken care of and is in fine condition. Its construction is unlike most of the poorly made book club editions. The buckram covered boards, high quality paper and matching top stain add up to a handsome edition possibly as desirable and rare as the first edition. The text block is solid, clean and square. Pictorial endpapers are clear of markings with small previous owner's bookplate under front flap. Spine tight, boards rigid and tips pointed. Slight push to spine ends. There is no book club deboss on the rear cover. The jacket is in very good minus condition and has some closed tearing along backstrip seams and chipping/loss at spine ends and some edges. It looks sleek in a shiny new plastic cover. Shipping box is suitable for wrapping with a non-price listed purchase order inside along with biodegradable packing.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book uses the palm tree as a metaphor to illustrate the characteristics of a righteous life. The author draws upon the Bible, particularly Psalm 92:12, to highlight the many ways in which the palm tree embodies spiritual virtues. Drawing upon historical and biblical examples, the author delves into the qualities of beauty, straightness, perennial freshness, fruitfulness, and sweetness, demonstrating how these qualities manifest in the lives of those who are truly blessed. The book delves into the deep significance of living a life full of spiritual fruit, highlighting the importance of "spiritual honey" and demonstrating how even in the face of trials, the true believer can possess a "sweetness" that influences others. The author emphasizes that the righteous life continues to flourish even in old age, drawing upon the example of John Wesley and other historical figures. The book concludes with a discussion of the utility of the palm tree, encouraging the reader to consider their own usefulness in the service of God and humanity. This book provides a unique and inspiring perspective on Christian life and its virtues, offering a timeless framework for seeking a life of spiritual growth and service. Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a textual study that investigates how scriptures are often misinterpreted to argue against a state of "Holiness" or perfection. By contextualizing particular Biblical passages and studying the overall theme of the Bible, the author argues that true holiness is not a sinless state but a state of continuous cleansing and renewal. Using a conversational tone, the author seeks to engage curious and skeptical readers into a deeper understanding of the Christian experience. This book will appeal to those desiring a clear explanation of holiness, and will help seekers find answers to the tough questions that often prevent them from pursuing a life of radical sanctification.
