Hardcover. Condition: Working copy. Text of Series I - IV bound together, WITHOUT the plates. First, second and fourth series dated 1847, third series dated 1849. Quarto, 161, 128, 247 & 46 pages plus a further 47 pages on Documents, Estimates of Cost, and Minutes of Specification and then about 100 pages describing the plates w…hich were published in a separate volume. The cloth of the spine is missing and the covers detached, as is the first gathering but the text block is complete. An excellent candidate for re-binding. Even without the plates a most useful guide to civil engineering practice and specifications on the early railways. This is a heavy volume and postage in the UK would be £7.05.
