Lingley Full Title: The American People and Nation Edition/Printing: 1928 printing Binding style and materials: Hardcover, cloth boards. Historical or collectible significance: A foundational work in American history education from the early 20th century. Historical & Collectible Context: Ginn and Company, a prominent educational publisher, was renowned for producing high-quality textbooks throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Such textbooks are sought after by collectors for their historical content, period artwork, and extensive cartography, offering a unique glimpse into how history was taught and perceived in a specific era. Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'The American Nation Yesterday and Today' is a thorough exploration of the historical development and cultural identity of the United States. Written by esteemed educator Rolla M. Tryon, this work offers a detailed examination of the nation's progress, tracing the threads of its past into t…he early 20th century. The narrative emphasizes the social, economic, and political transformations that shaped the American experience, providing readers with a clear understanding of how historical events influenced the contemporary society of the 1930s.Designed to provide a cohesive view of American history, the book delves into themes of growth, unity, and democratic ideals. It serves as both a historical record and an educational tool, reflecting the pedagogical shifts of its time that sought to make history relevant to the lives of citizens. By bridging the gap between the 'yesterday' of the founding eras and the 'today' of the post-World War I era, Tryon offers a perspective on the enduring spirit and evolving challenges of the American people. This work remains a valuable resource for those interested in the historiography of the United States and the methods used to teach national identity during a transformative period in American history. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
