Con due timbri a inchiostro blu «Cabinet du Procureur []» - «République Française []». La documentazione autografa della Commune è di eccezionale rarità. Rigault autorizza la visita ad un detenuto po…litico. Nato nel 1846, Rigault fu esponente rivoluzionario blanquiste; nel 1868 fuincarcerato tre mesi per il contenuto del periodico da lui diretto, «Le Democrite», violentemente anticlericale. Ricoprì la carica di prefetto alla nascita della Comune di Parigi e ordinò la condanna a morte di molte persone, tra cui l'Arcivescovo di Parigi; fu rimosso il 24 aprile perché considerato troppo radicale nei metodi; dal 26 aprile 1871 divenne Procuratore, al vertice della struttura inquirente. Il 23 maggio ordinò l'esecuzione di Gustave Chaudey, ex sindaco aggiunto di Parigi che nel gennaio aveva imposto ai soldati di sparare sulla folla in rivolta causando oltre 50 vittime. Il giorno successivo, mentre resisteva combattendo all'attacco dell'esercito legittimista, fu catturato e fucilato sul posto pochi giorni dopo aver scritto questa lettera, all'età di venticinque anni. mm.135 x 107, 1 bifolio, scritta 1 pagina. Manoscritto a inchiostro nero su carta intestata «Cabinet du Procureur de la Commune» e «Commune de Paris». Con due timbri a inchiostro blu «Cabinet du Procureur []» - «République Française []».
