Besides this major contribution, they also published books on salmon and trout fishing as well as hunting. The Times Literary Supplement review noted: "[it] is vital guarding against pollution." Albert Hazzard of the Fisheries Institute said it is an essential volume for those in water management relating to trout and salmon. In a sense, it was an early warning against water pollution and careless protection of the environment.
