Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Visible wear marks to boards.

Top page edges gold gilt. Ex-university library. Scarce translation of the Rubaiyat done by Jo…hnson, from the Lucknow manuscript. Contains 762 quatrains done in a poetic, rhyming style similar to Fitzgerald but aiming to accurately convey the original meaning. It was common to attribute such quatrains to Khayyam and some that appear in the manuscript are surely the work of other poets, as Johnson notes, but he 'took the work as it was found'. Blind stamped decorated cloth, spine a little dust dulled.
