Contains 762 quatrains done in a poetic, rhyming style similar to Fitzgerald but aiming to accurately convey the original meaning. It was common to attribute such quatrains to Khayyam and some that appear in the manuscript are surely the work of other poets, as Johnson notes, but he 'took the work as it was found'.
