Henri Delacroix (qui était alors doyen de la Sorbonne et dont Ombredane fut l'élève), état satisfaisant. Première (et seule) édition en librairie, rare, de la thèse de doctorat en médecine de l'auteur, présidée par Guillain. Cette thèse novatrice est l'un des deux textes majeurs sur le sujet avec celui de Cottrell & Wilson. André Ombredane (1898-1958) était déja agrégé de philosophie avant de faire ses études de médecine. Il fut interne à l'Hôpital psychiatrique Henri-Rousselle, assistant de Georges Dumas à la Sorbonne et attaché en neurologie à Bicêtre. En 1933, il fut nommé directeur adjoint du laboratoire de psychologie de l'enfant à l'Ecole pratique des Hautes Etudes. Il devint ensuite professeur de psychologie à Rio de Janeiro, puis à Bruxelles. Il soutint en 1947 une thèse de doctorat ès-lettres très remarquée sur l'aphasie et l'élaboration de la pensée explicite. Another advancement was the attempt to exclude, with the methods available at the time, possible diagnostic confusion with neurolue. Berrios and Quemada highlighted the limits and merits of Ombredane's work on the basis of current diagnostic criteria and with the aid of a statistical approach.
