Hardcover. Condition: Very good. Second impression. Octavo, 272pp. Stated "New Impression," thus presumably the second impression of this influential work of theoretical physics, originally published in the 1880s, and for the first time in English in 1903 by this same publisher, and seemingly from the same plates. Scarce. Very good in the publisher's grey cloth, with two smallish stains to the front boardthe corners mildly rounded, and an owner's name on the front free endpaper, else unmarked.
Hardcover. Condition: Near Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Third Edition. Third edition, translated from the seventh German edition, and listed as the first American edition on the copyright page. The binding is shaken but remains firm, and the book has bumps with some wear to the cloth at the spine ends and corners, foxing to the cloth with a faint musty scent to the pages, and a previous owner's name penned to the verso of the front fly leaf. Overall, this is a solid, Near Very Good copy with unmarked text, in a Good only, unclipped dust jacket, which has wear with badly creased tears and losses to the spine ends, edges and corners, as well as strong sunning with soiling to the spine, uneven toning along with rubbing, foxing and small stains to the covers, and wear with splitting starting to the hinges and folds. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar, and additional images are available by request.
