The book has an Introduction by Theodore Dreiser. Do you find yourself lamenting the absence of "High Literature" from today's lists? Here is a rich…dramatic work that just may appeal to you! J. G. Robin, writing under the pseudonym of Odin Gregory made somewhat of a splash in the literary world with his metrical verse tragedy focusing on political intrigues of ancient Rome. The book was endowed with gravitas by the presence of an Introduction written by Theodore Dreiser, famous author of "Sister Carrie" and "An American Tragedy". Dreiser's Introduction is interesting, in itself, and well worth the cost of admission for that alone. TITLE : Caius Gracchus - A Tragedy AUTHOR : Odin Gregory [ Pseudonym of J. G. Joseph G. Robin (1876-1928), ebreo di origine russa (il suo vero nome era Rabinovitch), si trasferì ancor giovane negli Stati Uniti, e si affermò a New York come banchiere e finanziere di grande successo. Dreiser apprezza in Gregory il tentativo classicista di far rivivere il teatro Elisabettiano, e scrive: "It is the work of a man who has something to say, and who says it well. When he touches on economics, he speaks with authority".
