Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Malaysia has an abundance of energy resources, both renewable and non-renewable. The energy demand and supply by source are also shown in relation to the country s fuel diversification policy. The efforts were undertaken to encourage the utilization of renewable resources. Forest residue and oil palm biomass are found to be potentially of highest energy value and considered as the main renewable energy option for Malaysia. The mass balance of the oil palm industry in Malaysia is reviewed as it is self-sufficient in energy, including a proposed plan for the operational process and product of the palm oil industry if used EFB as fuel beside palm shell and fibre. Palm oil and related products represent the second largest export of Malaysia. This book gives a detailed representation of oil palm planted and produced together with its yield from the year 1976 onwards. The large amounts of available forest and palm oil residues resulting from the harvest can be utilized for energy generation and other by-products in a manner that also addresses environmental concerns related to current waste disposal methods.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The pyrolysis process is an advanced conversiontechnology that has the ability to produce moreuseful and valuable pyrolysis liquids in 65-75% yieldon dry feed from a wide variety of waste and biomassstreams. The oil palm industry in Malaysia produceswastes in large quantities of empty fruit bunch [EFB]after shell and fibre, thus the presence of these oilpalm wastes has created a major disposal problem. There are two primary objectives discussed in thisbook. The first objective is to determine the fastpyrolysis conditions required to maximise thepyrolysis liquid yield from the EFB waste. Thesecond objective is to improve the quality andquantity of pyrolysis liquid by water washingpre-treatment of the EFB prior to pyrolysis. Pre-treatment technique by water washing has beendevised with particular emphasis on the removal ofash, which is required to modify the pyrolysisreaction sufficiently to produce homogenous bio-oil. The water washing experiments were designed with theobjective to gain a better understanding of the basicfactors impacting water washing of EFB that willprovide a basis for subsequent techno-economicoptimisation. …
