Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good-. Illustrated by Adele Mroz (illustrator). 1st Edition; 1st Printing. B&W Illustrations; SIGNED EDITION. This copy has been signed by the author on the front endpaper. The book is in Near Fine condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. There is some very beginning bumping and rubbing to the spine ends and corners of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket is in generally clean condition, but has several small edge nicks and smallish tears, some fading to the spine and some light rubbing and wear to the spine joints and corners. This is a log of a sailing barque - The Emerald - as it traveled in search of whales. The author of this log was William Henry Nichols, the grandfather of Captain Henry Nichols who has published the log. William Henry Nichols was a cooper and the ship's clerk and he kept this log for the ship. ; Signed by Author.

This is the log of the Whaling Vessell as written by the cooper and ship's clerk on this voyage. The elaboration of the log is in "italics' and was written by retired Navy Captain Henry C. Nichols, grandson of the author of the Emerald's Log. Very good in good dust jacket. Price clipped. Signed by author. DJ has slight wear and soiling. Signed on fep. Presumed first edition/first printing thus.
