Softcover. Condition: Fine. Leichte Kratzer / Abnutzungen / Druckstellen; Leichte Rillen / Abschürfungen / Risse / Knicke; Gebrochener Buchrücken. Leading writer, activist and commentator Mudrooroo crosses the cultural divide to speak to all Australians about his people's past, their place in the present and their hopes and aspirations for the future. Keenly felt, vigorously argued and compelling in their sweep, these provocative essays range the spectrum, from Aboriginal spirituality and oneness with the land to the practicalities of health, education and law. History, culture, politics and, perhaps, reconciliation: Us Mob is essential reading for all those wanting to understand the reality of Indigenous Australia in this post-Mabo age.

Paperback large trade, dustjacket, very good condition (in very good dustjacket), card covers, full-page black & white drawings, minor edgewear, copy 2. 77 pp. In his second collection of poems, based on the Aboriginal form of the manikay or song cycle, Colin Johnson (Mudrooroo Narogin) adapts the story of Dalwurra, the black bittern (a small bird sacred to Aborigines), to his own experience. He tells the story of his journey that leads from Perth in Western Australia to Singapore, then to India and finally to Scotland and England, to the Commonwealth Writer's Conference in Edinburgh - and then to London at the time of the Brixton riots. The return to Western Australia is not only a return to his own country but to full possession of his Aboriginal inheritance, a return which this poem celebrates. (1 of 2 available copies.).
Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Book is pre-owned - please see photos. The Kwinkan by Mudrooroo Narogin is a sharp, satirical novel set within the world of commerce and personal ambition. Framed around a cunning businessman's journey, the story employs wit and irony to examine greed, power, and moral compromise. Through vivid characterization and a touch of dark humor, the novel critiques societal expectations and the pitfalls of materialism within modern life.
