An excellent copy of this comprehensive and copiously illustrated French-language reference work that explores key concepts, terms, and figures in the fields of poetics and rhetoric. Includes figures of speech, literary genres, stylistic techniques,…metrics, and theories of literary interpretation. Hardcover, 1206 pgs with large foldout table of terms before the final loose endpaper. 9.5 x 6.5 x 3. Binding solid and square, though slightly pulled at one point on the top edge, which does not compromise the overall integrity or feel of the binding. Interior clean and unmarked. Cloth covered boards in excellent condition. DJ is clean and well intact, with some light rubbing and scuffing throughout, particularly along the edge of the front panel and spine. Additional minor shelf wear to the edges and corners, particularly to the top and bottom edges of the spine, which are more heavily scuffed, creased, and worn, though not egregiously so. Some occasional areas of discoloration to the off white panels at the spine and back, not terribly off-putting. Now covered in brand new brodart. Dust soiling to the very corner tips at the bottom of the outer page block, not encroaching on the interior at all. Overall an excellent copy of this uncommon, unusual and extensive work.
