Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Printed in the U.S.A. First Printing. Preface, Detailed Contents, Conclusion, Bibliography, Index; 204 pages. The attractive deep-blue cloth is in excellent shape with gilt lettering still bright on the spine and upper board. The corners are sharp but the… spine ends are slightly bumped. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] The interior is bright and clean, despite normal toning to the top edge. The price-clipped dust jacket, having protected the book so well, is itself rather worn. "Bringing to her subject a clear and comprehensive grasp of Scholastic Philosophy, [the author] has been able to reduce to orderly arrangement the main tenets of New Realism, to elucidate their content, to point out their chief implications, and then to show, by reference to solid criteria of judgment, both the beneficial as well as the illogical and dangerous elements in the new movement." As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking.

Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'Introduction to Metaphysics' serves as a comprehensive and systematic gateway into the fundamental branch of philosophy concerned with the nature of reality and existence. Written by Charles C. Miltner and Daniel C. O'Grady, this work offers a clear and structured exploration of the primary conce…pts that underpin philosophical inquiry, including being, essence, substance, and causality. The text is designed to guide the reader through the complexities of ontological study, examining the principles of first causes and the ultimate nature of things. By focusing on the scholastic tradition, the authors provide a rigorous framework for understanding the relationship between the physical world and the abstract concepts that define it. This volume is particularly valuable for students and scholars seeking a traditional approach to metaphysical questions, as it clarifies the distinctions between potentiality and actuality, and the various categories of being. With its logical progression and emphasis on precision, 'Introduction to Metaphysics' remains a significant resource for those wishing to master the core vocabulary and arguments of classical and neo-scholastic thought. It stands as an enduring contribution to the study of the first principles of all knowledge. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
