First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good+. No Jacket. Huebner, Mentor (illustrator). 1st Edition. Unpaginated. Sheets fastened with two brads. Sepia-toned pages with brown copies of Huebner's original illustrations, one per page, recto only. No title or other information, but numerous drawings contain captions with character names making it possible to verify that this is for the film 4 for Texas. Huebner's drawings are vivid and dynamic here, and they offer a striking window on the production's design. The film starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Anita Ekburg. Huebner's work wasn't credited by name, as was the case with his work on numerous films throughout his career, as late as 1971's Fiddler on the Roof. This copy does note Aldrich on the front page, a reference to Robert Aldrich, who wrote and directed the film, and "Bill," for William Glasgow, who was Art Director on the project. This copy came from Huebner's estate. In addition to his work in the film industry, Huebner managed a successful career as a fine artist, mounting more than fifty solo shows of his work. An uncommon document of the making of an early-60s film with considerable star power. Size: 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Book.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good+. No Jacket. 2 Vols. Thin blue cardstock covers, plastic comb bound. Titles on front in black marker, signed by Huebner at lower left corner of each. Unpaginated, approximately 50 sheets per volume, images on recto only. Black and white drawings reproduced here for production design, shot by shot. Film starred Mary Tyler Moore, Christine Lahti and Ted Danson. Lahti and Moore, the two leads, find they share something unexpected, their connection to the same man. At this stage of the production, the film was known as "Something in Common," per the title on each volume. In addition to his work in the film industry, Huebner managed a successful career as a fine artist, mounting more than fifty solo shows of his work. An uncommon document of the making of a mid-80s film with a trio of beloved stars. Size: 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Book.
