Der Hauptgrund ist darin zu sehen, dass die Lesepredigt all das repräsentiert, was von der zeitgenössischen Predigttheorie her eigentlich ausgeschlossen ist. Ausgehend von den Praktiken der Dichterlesung und des Redenschreibens werden die strittigen Fragen aufgenommen und eine Theorie der Praxis der Lesepredigt entworfen. [The Reading Sermon. Studies on the History and Theory of a Homiletic Genre] Although the reading sermon is used in many pulpits, it remains virtually ignored in homiletics. This paper seeks to explore this paradox and examines the phenomenon of this homiletic genre both in its history and in homiletic theory. While the reading sermon has accompanied the history of preaching from the beginning, it has yet to be specifically justified in homiletic theory. The main reason for this is that the reading sermon represents everything that is actually excluded from contemporary sermon theory. Based on the practices of poetry reading and speech writing, the controversial issues are addressed and a theory of the practice of the reading sermon is developed. 504 pp. Deutsch.
